British Bass-Baritone Christian Loizou is a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and a scholarship-holder at the Royal Northern College of Music.

Biography

Christian Loizou is a British Bass-Baritone, studying with Mark Wildman at the Royal Northern College of Music.
Praised for his “handsome baritone” (Richard Bratby, The Spectator), Christian has performed principal roles in college opera productions, most recently as the Priest in RNCM's production of The Cunning Little Vixen, and before that as Le Roi de Trêfles in Prokofiev's L'amour des Trois Oranges. In Summer 2025, Christian made his role debut as Figaro in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro with Opera Kipling, in a production that travelled around the UK and France. Summer 2026 will see Christian performing the role of Un Doganiere, and covering the role of Colline in Puccini’s La Bohème at Grange Festival Opera.
When not singing operatic repertoire, Christian is a keen concert soloist and performs regularly across the UK in recitals and concerts. He is generously supported in his studies at the RNCM by a full ABRSM Scholarship.
