Christian Loizou is a British-Cypriot Bass-Baritone, studying with Mark Wildman at the Royal Northern College of Music. He is a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he studied with Scott Johnson and Andrew McTaggart.Christian has performed principal roles in college opera productions, in 2024 as Sirocco in Chabrier's L'Etoile, and in 2025 as Le Roi de Trêfles in Prokofiev's L'amour des Trois Oranges. He will next appear in Spring 2026 as the Priest in RNCM's production of The Cunning Little Vixen.In Summer 2025, Christian made his role debut as Figaro in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro with Opera Kipling, in a production that travelled around the UK and France.
His international debut was at Wexford Festival Opera in 2023 as a Moroccan Soldier in the world premiere of Tutino’s La Ciociara, and he returned in 2024 to play Yeats and The Judge in another world premiere, Caruso’s Lady Gregory in America.When not singing operatic repertoire, Christian is a concert soloist and performs regularly across the UK in recitals and concerts. He is generously supported in his studies at the RNCM by a full ABRSM Scholarship.
